Matt's Story

MEET MATT

Matt lived big.

He loved his family fiercely. He liked nice hotels, good wine and driving a little too fast — but he'd take Maxwell House coffee over anything fancy and could happily pair an impressive bottle of wine with his favorite hot dog.

When Matt did something, he rarely did it halfway.

When he sent roses, the arrangement took two people to carry.

When he decided to exercise, apparently that meant twice a day forever.

When he picked up a pickleball paddle, he came home with a trophy.

And when he took a plane over the lake, he came home with a pilot’s license.

Matt’s Caps carries a little of that spirit forward:

**Do something good. Do it generously. And do it all the way.**

THAT'S WHAT MATT CHOSE.
When Matt went through chemotherapy, he chose cold-cap therapy.
He wanted to keep his hair.
But what he was really choosing was something bigger:
Control.
The ability to keep showing up.
To keep living.
To keep being Matt.
To stay in the game.
Matt's Caps exists so someone else can have that choice.

Our Mission

Why Matt’s Caps

When Matt was diagnosed with cancer, there were so many things he couldn’t control.

His hair didn’t have to be one of them.

Cold-cap therapy gave Matt the chance to keep his hair during chemotherapy — and with it, a small but meaningful piece of normalcy, privacy and himself.

Matt’s Caps was created in his memory to give that same choice to other people facing cancer.

Because sometimes something that seems small isn’t small at all.

What We Do

Cold-cap therapy can help reduce chemotherapy-related hair loss, but access can be expensive, confusing and out of reach for many families.

**Matt’s Caps helps change that.**

We help people facing chemotherapy access cold-cap therapy, equipment, resources and support — regardless of their ability to pay.

No one should have to choose between another medical expense and holding onto something that helps them still feel like themselves.
